Every month, we are going to look at some of the worst boy bands of all time, with a special edition of the Worst Boyband Ever. This comes from my love of boy bands and the ridiculous ones I have found along the way. These are bands I have stumbled upon in my journeys through the internet. E-Male is the best option for the first edition.
Have you ever wondered what would happen if a boy band was on roller skates? Me neither, but that is exactly what E-Male is. 5 guys that formerly were a part of a roller-skating musical The Starlight Express, came together to make a roller skating boy band. They were formed in Northern Ireland. The members included E-Mense, E-Zee, E-Nigma, E-Lusive, and E-Go. Those aren’t real names, you say. Yes, I know. They were alter ego names for these guys. Their real names from left to right in the picture are Adam (E-Zee), Chris (E-Go), Julian (E-Mense), JP (E-Lusive), and PT (Enigma).
Between rollerskating and having aliases, this band really was different. The big question, though, is could they sing? Check it out for yourselves…
The year 1998 was not ready for E-Male. They were ahead of their time. People weren’t ready for roller skates and aliases. The video above was the second video for this same song. On Youtube, you can find 3 videos. One that was scrapped in 1997, a live video, and this one. This is the most inferior of the three. This is the only known song that is found for this band.
Review:
I have sent this one video to almost all of my friends. It is a gem. Can they sing? Not really. Is it really outdated? Definitely. But I will continue to watch this video anytime I need a good laugh. This gem of a lyric, “We are E-male. We cannot fail,” is a favorite. Oh the irony, if they only knew when singing that, they would never make it out of the gate.
The concept actually isn’t a terrible idea. I watched their live video as well, and it was very cool and impressive. I could see going to see a show, just to see what they could do. It is not realistic, though. There is no way that a band could sustain a whole concert on skates, and stages are not meant for skating. Those boys would fly right off one time, and that is quite a liability.
At the end of the day, it is a novelty. There is no way they would have been the NSYNC or Backstreet Boys of the 90s. But they are highly entertaining and is great for a good laugh.

How Bad Are They: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Rollerskates, CGI, green screens, it has it all. They never had a chance, but maybe for the best.
Should they come back?:⭐⭐⭐⭐
Please! I would pay cold hard cash to watch 40-year-old men now attempt to do this.
