Why are They Famous?
Mara Wilson is best known for acting as the main character in Matilda. She started acting when she was 5 years old. Her first role was in Mrs. Doubtfire. She did so well as Natalie in Mrs. Doubtfire that she was cast in the remake of Miracle on 34th Street in 1994.
After these two roles, Wilson was solidified as a child actor to watch. She was in a recurring role in Melrose Place in 1993. It was Danny DeVito who found Wilson and got her hired in the protagonist role in Matilda, as Matilda in 1996. She would continue acting for the next few years until 2000 when she would stop and would fade into oblivion and normal life. Wilson even turned down an audition for Donnie Darko. So what is she doing now?
Where are They Now?
In 2012, Mara Wilson starred in a web series named Nostalgia Critic as herself. She decided after 2013 that her acting days were over, and she started writing. Wilson wrote a book, Where Am I Now?: True Stories of Girlhood and Accidental Fame, in 2016. After this, she started voice acting. She has been a voice in BoJack Horseman and Big Hero Six: The Series. Wilson continues to write and voice acts to this day.
