One of the most successful child stars of the 90s was Macaulay Culkin. Between movies and TV, it was tough for you not to see him everywhere. He has fallen off the radar in the last few years, so let’s figure out where he is…

History:
Macaulay Culkin started acting in the 80s. His first credit is in The Midnight Hour in 1985. He would continue making films and TV appearances until 1990 when he would rocket to fame with the Christmas movie Home Alone.
For those living under a rock, Home Alone is the first film in a comedy franchise that follows Kevin McCallister, played by Macaulay Culkin, when he is left alone at home and is attempting to stop home intruders. Home Alone made 476 million dollars and was a blockbuster success. Culkin received an American Comedy Award and was nominated for a Golden Globe for the performance.
This skyrocketed his success, where he would end up hosting Saturday Night Live, starting his “friendship” with Michael Jackson, and continue to film movies. He would star in My Girl, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, The Page Master, and Richie Rich all in the early 90s. Culkin made millions of dollars and then decided that he didn’t want to act anymore, and quit.
Macaulay Culkin would go to normal high school life and would live a normal life for a while.
After a 6 year hiatus in 2000, he would start acting again in various films and voiceover work. Other than his voice-over work on Robot Chicken, nothing else was very successful.

Where are They Now?:
In 2004, he was arrested for possession of controlled substances. In 2018, he legally changed his name to Macaulay Macaulay Culkin Culkin. Oh, he is also turning 42 years old this year. Feel old yet?
Macaulay Culkin is a father to a son, Dakota with another child star, Brenda Song. He would continue to act here and there throughout the years. Culkin would create a podcast and website called Bunny Ears. It is a comedy website and podcast that parodies celebrity brands. He also is frequently in advertisements for different companies. Most recently, he reprised his role as Kevin McCallister in a Google ad. He can be seen starring in American Horror Story: Double Feature.

My wife and I still watch Home Alone 1 & 2 (which as far as I’m concerned are the only Home Alone movies ever made) each Christmas time. Reminds me, we still need to watch them this year!
You missed the best part about his name change. He wanted to change his middle name, and couldn’t figure out what, so he asked his fans. “Macauly Culkin” won, making his name officially Macauly Macauly Culkin Culkin. The other top choices were TheMicRibIsBack, Shark Week, Publicity Stunt and Kieran (his brother’s first name).
